NAVAL ASSOCIATIONS BIENNIAL PARADE – SUNDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2017
- The Naval Association Parade will be held its Biennial Parade at the Cenotaph at Whitehall on Sunday 10 September 2017. Associations and individuals related to the Naval Service are cordially invited to march with their Shipmates and to parade their Standards with the RNA National Standard, RNA Area, RNA Branch Standards, Confederation of Naval Associations Standards and Guest Standards. The Royal Navy will be represented by two platoons of Trainees from HMS Sultan and HMS Collingwood.
It is also anticipated that 3 or 4 Standards and marchers will parade from AFAFN/NVOZM (Belgium) and once again there will also be a Standard and contingent from the Irish Naval Association.
The Parade is to form up in Whitehall Place march along Whitehall and is to dismiss in Whitehall Place after a wreath laying ceremony on the Cenotaph. The Chaplain of the Fleet and RNA Honorary Chaplain, The Venerable Ian Wheatley QHC RN has agreed to officiate at the Service of Remembrance. Provisionally, The Fleet Commander, Vice Admiral Ben Key CBE will take the Review, accompanied by the RNA National President, Vice Admiral John McAnally CB LVO, who will say a few words at the conclusion of the parade. Mrs Gill Molyneux and her daughter Bethany will be VIP guests. It is also the intention for a number of MPs to attend as guests.
