We visited www.deansmarine.co.uk and note that their kit for BRONINGTON, as a minehunter costs £121.50. It is 46.5 cm long x 8.6 cm beam and sailing weight 736 grams.

This superb model, that is still under construction, is being built by a volunteer who works on the SAS DURBAN Rob May. The TCA is assisting in a small way by providing pictures & information. We look forward to seeing the finished item under way as we believe it is to be working radio controlled model.

Kirkliston Model Lt Cdr Michael Cox receives the model from Mark Bruce.

Model of HMS KIRKLISTON was constructed by TCA Member Andrew Wheatley. Andrew left instructions in his will that his models & maritime books be used to raise funds for RNBT. Andrews stepson Mark Bruce gifted the model to the TCA. It now resides in the Marshlands Maritime Museum at Clenchwarton, Norfolk (admission by prior arrangement www.marshlandmaritimemuseum.com) .

  1. Just watched the Ant and Dec programme about the Prince’s Trust and was pleasantly surprised to see the large scale model of the Bronington the Prince has in his house.

    • Very nice to see that model. Having been to both St James’s Palace & Clarence House I can not recall seeing it on display. It is probably in a private section.

  2. I am looking for hull line drawings , deck and superstructure drawings for a Ton class Mine sweeper ,I have just finished an Algerine class mine sweeper model for the SA Navy museum Cape Town. Hopefully my next project will be a ton class, any help will be appreciated.
