  1. I am interested to know what was the ex-Ham class MCMV, that became Vosper Thornycroft’s training vessel Marguerite, and what was her pennant number while serving in the RN. Thank you

    • Christopher many thanks for contacting us.
You posed an interesting question not least of all due to our current records for ‘Hams’ & ‘Leys’ being thin on the ground.
All I can tell you at the moment is the following: –
HMS TRESHAM M2736 built by M Giles and completed 10th October 1955.
She was handed over to Reardon Smith Nautical College, Cardiff (date unknown) and renamed “Margherita”.
I will continue to see if we can find any further information and would be very happy if you can add to our records or tell us of your interest in the ship.

      Best wishes

      Bob

  2. I came across this site by accident. Wikipedia does know if they are in service or not. I don’t think they are.

    • John,
Many thanks for bringing this site to our attention. I tend to agree with you that they are no longer in commission. If I can find someone to translate the text I will let you know. Might be a good idea to see if we can publicise the web site in “Ton Talk”.
      Best wishes

      Bob

    • Thanks John,
Nice model. I suppose I could try pasting some of the text and getting the internet to translate. Might have a go later when I have caught up with my backlog.
      Cheers

      Bob
